1.53CTW OLD MINE CUT DIAMOND STUDS

Super pair of antique diamond studs. The settings appear original, likely English and  Edwardian period in 18k gold crown style baskets with 8 prongs, the backs ( not pictured) were replaced with 9k gold backs at some point. The diamonds are old mine cuts and super chubby and interesting fellas, they offer sparkle that is unlike any modern cut, a ton of personality. 

One diamond measures 5.6mm x 3.7mm and the other is 5.5mm by 4.1mm, calculated 0.74CT  and 0.79CT, could possibly weight a tad more as they have thick girdles in places ( as very old cut diamonds can) estimated I-J color and one stone is VS clarity, while the other is SI2 clarity, this stone has a small dark spec that is not readily visible to the eye, much less on the ears.
