Absolutely stunning pair of antique cushion-y old cut diamonds in vintage setting, I believe the setting was made around the 40's and not as old as the diamonds, and it has a interesting lever lock for pierced ears that feels super secure when they are on. The diamonds are super fiery with big blocky facets and lovely make.
Dimensions: Weight 4.6grams , the setting has a max width of 9.3mm and it's 15.1mm tall, they look great on the lobes.
Marks/metal: Not marked, the top of the earring and the gallery are made of platinum, while the back mechanism and post are 14k gold
Stones: Bottom stones both have a maximun diameter of 6.8mm and a calculated total weight of 2.24CTW , both stones face larger than a standard 1ct round brilliant, great size !! The weight was also verified by a gemologist and a third party appraisal will come with the purchase. The top stones add to approx. 0.25CTW for a total of 2.49CTW
Color/clarity: Both bottom stones are in the L-M range and one is VS1-2 while the second is SI1-2 , both are eye clean. The top stones are a bit lighter in color I-J and one is SI1 while the second is I1.
Condition: The setting is in great condition for it's vintage age. The diamonds present thinner frosted girdles that are a bit irregular and normal for this type of cut but they have no chips, scratches or surface reaching inclusions.
