ANTIQUE ROSE CUT DIAMOND FRENCH YELLOW GOLD AND PLATINUM BROOCH

Fine antique long bar brooch of french origin, it bears the eagle mark for french gold and tests for 18k gold ( including the needle) and it has a platinum overlay on top, presumably to make the diamonds look bigger / brighter. The diamonds appear white and are in the near colorless range G-I and are eye clean with SI1-2 average clarity. 

The beautiful rose cut diamonds are masterfully set in individual bezels adorned with very fine milgrain, they sparkle softly at every turn, there are also 3 small rose cuts on each side of the pin bead set on the metal, the center bezel has a a diameter of 5mm, making this diamond look to have the spread of a .40ct brilliant round.

The brooch weights a heavy 6.3 grams and it is 7cm long, with a max width of 7.6mm.
