Very unique antique ( likely Edwardian) opal and rose cut diamond ring. The ring is made of 18k gold and the diamonds are set in platinum collets with the back of the opal covered, the back makes for an incredible display of colors in this stone and which never looks dull. My pictures don't do it justice, there is so much pink color, together with blues, purples and greens. The diamonds in the halo range from 2.2mm to 1.6mm.
The ring measures 25mm ( 1 inch) long and weights 8.2 grams. There is a owl french stamp which means the ring was imported into france at some point. Currently there is a inner sizer ring affixed in the ring which makes it fit approximately like a 5.75-6, however I can easily remove it and size it properly for mostly any finger. The sizer might be nice to leave in place if you for example have a large knuckle so I have left it for now. Light surface wear is present in the opal which still shines beautifully but otherwise the ring is in great condition.
Here is a short video of this ring ( in indoor light) illustrates the colors better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGwpA8TKuq0
